Hair Loss Treatments
The Fue Method (Follicular Unit Excision)
It is the latest and most sophisticated method of hair transplantation in the world. It is important that only an experienced surgeon having dealt with such a surgery can correctly advise on the right choice of a suitable method.
A patient’s expectations and available technical options should be taken into account. The principle of hair reconstruction is to ensure the lasting effect of the treatment. The use of certain medications helps to maintain hair, but what if the hair has already fallen out? It is no secret that the most resistant and durable hair is on the back and sides of the head. This is clearly seen on the Norwood alopecia scale. Knowing that, the strongest hair has been attempted to be placed in the weakest areas of forehead, temples and very top of the head, where patients have already lost their hair. That’s why the back of the head and sides are the so-called donor area, because it provides hair and it is where the surgeon collects hair follicles from.
Hair collected from the back of the head and sides is more resistant to falling out (note that people who have lost their hair still have a lot of it in the back and on the sides of the head). Using this knowledge, we can transfer the “strong” and permanent hair to the areas that need hair thickening or hair restoration.
The initial transplants involved cutting out a hairy skin fragment and sewing it into the hairless areas. A more natural look was obtained only after inventing the Strip Method.
The latest FUE method is the least invasive. During the process, single hair follicles are taken out without using a scalpel and no stitches are required which results in no visible traces of hair replacement surgery. Follicles are taken one by one with a tiny tool of 0.8 – 1.0mm in diameter. Such a procedure is work- and time-consuming, but at the same time not as invasive as FUT (strip) method, so it reduces the number of possible complications and you can repeat it after 6 months from the last treatment.
Additionally, after the surgery, patients experience less discomfort and faster recovery times.
FUE hair transplant procedure ensures a natural-looking appearance and the donor area in the back of the head appears mostly unchanged. Just as in any surgical procedure, it is important that you select an experienced doctor specialized in the field of surgical hair restoration.
Every hair treatment and hair transplantation method may have some particular advantages as well as disadvantages. For this reason, having a clear understanding of every method is very important.

VIP FUE
This method combines traditional FUE treatment and stem cells collection and separation. The patient becomes both a donor and a recipient of an autological transplant so it is possible to stimulate the treated area using progenitor cells and growth factors obtained from the graft collection area.
- Shorter healing time, skin regeneration and preparation for FUE treatment
- Faster regrowth of transplanted hair
- Strengthening of weaker hair
- Inhibition of hair loss
Micro-Pricking Therapy
Micro-pricking is intended to stimulate the production of growth agents within the scalp. The treatment involves puncturing the skin with microneedles, which causes damage to the epidermis, and consequently the influx of platelets in this area and the production skin regeneration factors.
The method has been proven effective in clinical trials in the treatment of androgenetic alopecia. Combining this method with other non-surgical procedures proves to be more beneficial than a mono-therapy.
The treatment is performed under local anesthesia. It is recommended to perform one treatment per month for 4-5 months to assess the patient’s effectiveness. A single treatment may not bring desired effects, which results from the rate of hair regeneration and growth.
Scalp Micropigmentation
Scalp micropigmentation (SMP), also known as trichopigmentation, is a revolutionary cosmetic procedure performed to improve scalp look with the use of skin pigments. SMP allows to imitate a closely shaved scalp and may be incorporated in the patient’s natural hair if a thicker hair effect is desired.
An ideal SMP candidate is a person who does not have enough hair to cover the whole balding area with a transplant with a desired thickness. SMP can also minimize the visibility of scars after older hair transplant methods and other procedures. It is mostly used for the following groups:
- Scalp visibility after hair transplant
- Female type balding
- Shaved scalp effect
- Scar on scalp
- Other types of balding
Laser Therapy for Hair Reconstruction
Phototherapy and Laser Therapy
Laser treatment of hair loss (phototherapy, LLLT) may be an ideal solution for some patients suffering from female and male type of balding. Laser therapy may be efficient for both men and women who were not successful with the use of alternative treatment methods.
It is a convenient solution for patients who cannot (for different reasons) undergo hair transplant surgery. During this non-invasive treatment follicles are exposed to light which stimulates hair growth.
PDO Threads
PDO threads allow to reconstruct dermis and stimulate blood circulation around follicles to help them grow. For the last few years this method has been successfully applied to prevent hair loss and to treat balding.
Stem Cells
Autological cell transplantation, Regenera Activa, is a specially designed method with the use of autological cell transplant with a series of applications in regenerative medicine.
During a single session, when a patient is at the same time a donor and a recipient of an autological transplant, it is possible to stimulate the transplant area with progenitor cells and growth factors sourced from the donor areas.
The procedure usually takes 20-30 minutes. First, a small skin fragment (one to three biopsies with a diameter of 2.5 mm) is sourced from the hairline on patient’s neck. This is the area the least prone to androgenic hair loss. Taking such a small skin fragment allows for spontaneous healing of the transplant donor area.
The process is completely painless as the biopsy area is anesthetized. In the subsequent phase the surgeon, with the use of a special device, isolates progenitor cells, stem cells and growth factors from the sourced tissue. The medicinal substance is injected into the scalp in the vicinity of the follicles to initiate regeneration processes.
The Regenera Activa procedure may be repeated after 2-3 years to prevent further hair loss in androgenic balding.
